Though I have a Masters in Computer Science, I also really love design work. This is why web development is so appealing to me - as I have the opportunity to think through the back-end programming, and be artistic at the same time with the front-end design.
Several years ago I discovered Wordpress and ZenPhoto - two great tools for quickly and easily deploying feature-rich sites. Most of the sites below run on Wordpress, after first being mocked up in Photoshop, and for the photo galleries, I use ZenPhoto. I’ve also written an number of custom plugins/features for Wordpress and ZenPhoto that I use to further extend their functionality.
Sites I’ve Built and Maintain
tammiesprings.com. This site was built as a reboot to my original site, jsprings.com. I wanted a personal site that I could blog on and share pictures, as well as present this portfolio of my work.
illuminate.nlcic.org. This site runs on Wordpress and Zenphoto. I did some custom programming work to ensure that only registered users could access the photo gallery. (And the kids love the site.)
tobinsprings.com. Built the site for my husband to showcase his art (on Wordpress and Zenphoto).
EphrataFirstBaptist.org. Originally released as EphrataFirstBaptist.com, I’ve managed this site longer than any of the other sites. I became the webmaster of this site in ‘98 (before I graduated High School). This site has gone through numerous rebuilds, but the most recent one is built using Wordpress as a CMS. This allows the church staff to update the site very easily.
